"Everyone needs a mirror to see themselves. Each of us needs to make the choice to step in front of one."

Hi, my name is Cassie Crow, I facilitate Productive Learning workshops and serve as a member of the marketing team. I am a strong advocate for facilitated self-inquiry and working in groups to cultivate self-knowledge and self-awareness.

I took my first workshop, Beyond Reasons, with Productive Learning in 2008, a year after my mom passed away. I was working as a Real Estate agent in the Bay Area as well as a Mary Kay representative because having graduated in 2007 with my Masters I couldn’t find a job. At that time I had read all the books, “Think and Grow Rich,” “The Power of Positive Thinking,” “The Secret,” “The Power of Now,” and yet my life didn’t reflect all the ideals I have learned to create.  I was determined to discover the gap and that is when I met Betty Jo Waxman and she delivered a presentation, “Does your thinking limit your success?” I was captivated by the idea of working with people who understood what I had read and could work with me to develop my skills.

That workshop changed the trajectory of my life forever. I learned how to see myself with some objective perspective and that awareness of myself has allowed me to make conscious choices based on my values rather than reactive ones based on fear or protection. I have spent the last 9 years serving others to develop their perspective all while continuing to enhance my own. The reciprocal relationship I have with those in our community are some of the most fulfilling and rewarding relationships I have ever experienced.

One of the relationships I developed from my work with Productive Learning is the most intimate and cherished of them all. I met my husband Lindon in the first session of Trainers Training and told him I loved him in Current Communications. Our love is my dream come true and our life together is better than I ever imagined possible.

In June of 2017, we delivered our first son, Bodhi Austin Crow. He was born still and it is the greatest tragedy of our lives. Our hearts broke open and the pain was tremendous. In the wake of this loss, we have become closer than ever. We have invited our loved ones in and we have felt more love than ever before.  I will forever be grateful to Productive Learning for every workshop I took that challenged me and pushed me because it gave me the practice I needed to make this experience truly extraordinary. When I look back on what could have been a horrific event, not only do I not have any regrets, I am impressed with how we have been with each other and ourselves.  And while I grieve the loss, I also feel tremendous gratitude and that is very rewarding. It also allows me to honor our son in a way that makes me very proud.

If I am not in a workshop, I am singing, dancing, practicing yoga, hanging out with the people I love, hiking and writing for my blog. I believe that the “unexamined life is not worth living,” so my life is my opportunity to know myself at deeper and deeper levels so that I feel fully alive, completely unstoppable and absolutely free.

I look forward to meeting you in a workshop. Ram Dass says, “We are all just walking each other home.” Workshops are where we practice choosing how that journey will be.
