Goal Setting
Examine the role you play in setting goals that work for you--consciously understand your purpose in choosing your goals.
Many of us are in the habit of setting goals. Unfortunately, most people set their goals in a very unproductive way. They fail to understand what makes a goal effective and resort to a "hit and miss" approach, creating frustration and disappointment.
When used effectively, goals can be an extraordinary tool. However many people unknowingly use them to set themselves up for failure, while others create a list of
"shoulds" and mislabel them as their goals. When goals are misused, they can be counter-productive and even create negative consequences that impact our lives.
In our "Goal Setting" workshop, we'll examine the role you play in setting goals that work for you. To successfully reach a goal, you must first consciously understand and support your purpose in choosing it. If your goals are in line with who you are and what you really want, they will create focus and guide your behavior and daily choices.
Goal setting keeps you focused on your direction and acts as a reference point any time you feel you have strayed from your path. It offers yet another benefit, which is to help you more accurately identify the distractions that are serving as road blocks on your path to success and happiness. Once you start and commit to this process, it won’t take long for you to see the results, which include being able to break down even the most complex life goals into stepping stones that you can tackle every day.
Goals can be the key to getting what you want . . . or lead you into counter-productive behavior. Ask yourself -- how well do you use your goals? If you hesitate and know you could do better take Goal Setting and discover how to make the most of this valuable tool!
