Spirit of Adventure

Ancient mariners, Lewis and Clark and the astronauts of the 20th century are examples of what seems to be an innate desire in our DNA for adventure. These explorers displayed inspiration, ingenuity and courage in their efforts to expand the universe as they knew it. What happens to this trait while we go about our day-to-day — is it suppressed by fear and obligations?

Adventure and discoveries are driven not so much by our desire to understand what’s out there, but by our need to understand the innermost truth about ourselves. Each time we venture beyond the familiar boundaries of our own front yard, we find things that excite us, scare us, make us gasp in awe and shout with joy.

When was the last time you were thrilled?
